CJBQ 800 AM is a Country music station operating in Belleville and currently held by Quinte Broadcasting. CIGL and CJTN are the sisters of the station. On August 15, 1946 the channel was launched officially on a frequency of 1230 kHz using an ERP of 250 watts. The frequency was changed to 800 kHz and 1,000 w was the new wattage; the channel used from March 1957. CJBQ-FM was established in Aug 1962 and got affiliate with CBC Dominion. The studios were moved to Intelligencer Building at 45 Bridge Street East.

Wattage was increased to 10,000 w on Nov 4, 1970. In 1984 CRTC amended the term in the license by which the channel had to broadcast the content of CBC English service. The station was relocated to 10 South Front Street on June 19, 1985. Celebration were made on the 40th anniversary of radio in August 1986. The long run AC format was flipped to country on Feb 1, 1993. Effective control was transferred to Mr. Herbert M. Morton and Mrs. Joyce on Sep 19, 2003 after the approval of CRTC. On Dec 21, 2012 CRTC renewed the license of the radio until Aug 31, 2019.
