Jack FM 94.5 Regina also legally known as CKCK-FM is a Regina based station established on July 19, 1922 as an AM station after the licensee George Bell of the Regina Leader Publishing Co. Ltd. planned to do something in radio broadcasting; the station would operate on 2,000 watts ERP and got settled down at 960 kHz in 1925 also decreasing its wattage to 500 w. The Sifton family was the new stakeholder after purchasing The Leader Publishing Co. Ltd. in 1927. In 1934 the station switched its frequency from 960 to 1010 kHz followed by another change under Havana Treaty; the channel was moved to 620 kHz with ERP of 1,000 watts this time. Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC) took over the channel on May 29, 1943 and added some programs related to permanent active women militia in country. In 1945 CKCK-FM was one of the CBC Trans-Canada eight supplementary stations. In August 1946 the effective radiated power of the station got increased to 5000 watts.
