100.1 Moose FM (CJCD-FM) is a Yellowknife based AC and Classic Hits channel owned by Vista Broadcast Group. The Northwest Territories station got launched in 1998 after the approval of CRTC. The rebroadcaster: CJCD-FM-1 of the CJCD (call letters) is located in Hay River. “The Best Variety in the North!” is the slogan of the station. The history of the station traces back to March 1979 when Charles A. Dent representing, a to be launched corporation, applied for an approval of the AM Radio at Yellowknife. The Moose would operate using frequency 1240 kHz and full time ERP: 1,000 watts. The first private AM radio service in the community started its broadcasts officially as CJCD on November 13, 1979. In 1981 the CRTC gave an approval of the division of shares making it 50% to each i.e. Yellowknife Broadcasters Ltd and Charles Dent. The wattage o the CJCD got incremented in October 1985 from 1,000 to 4,000 watts. The rebroadcaster at Hay River was cleared by CRTC on February 21, 1986 and was registered up to September 30, 1990; the Moose was launched on September 15, 1986. CRTC gave a Yes to band change (FM) on the same frequency i.e. 100.1 MHz with a reduced ERP of 400 watts. The studios and offices were shifted on 25th anniversary of the CJCD now branded as Mix 100 on November 13, 2004.

The current owners Vista Broadcast Group Inc. won a bid to acquire the 100.1 Moose FM in 2007 thus amalgamating CJCD Radio Ltd and the primarily owned Vista Radio Ltd to produce a new identity Vista Radio Ltd. On May 2014 after the transfer of effective control of Vista Radio Ltd and a News Director change the FM was rebranded as 100.1 Moose FM broadcasting Adult Contemporary to the Northwest audiences.
