More About CJDJ 102.1 FM

102.1 FM was launched after necessary arrangements with Call-signs CHSN-FM and brand-name: Sun 102 in 1990. In January 1997 Elmer Hildebrand was allowed to acquire the Sun 102 from High Line Broadcasting. Sun 102 became 102.1 The River in the same year (1997) after the ownership change and Local Management Agreement being agreed with Rawlco Communications. An audience group aged ranging 35-64 would enjoy a mix of Pop and Country. The call-sings were changed when 102.1 The River adopted calls: CKOM-FM in 1998. After the termination of Local Management Agreement (LMA) in 1999 the Rawlco Inc. came forward and showed its interest in Purchasing the 102.1 The River. The River instantly became Rock 102 and switched to Rock format in April, 2001. The call-letters were changed as CJDJ-FM in February 2002. CRTC in November 2009 after negotiation with the owners amended the license conditions that were making it difficult for Rock 102 to stay on air with an increased limit of local programming. The license was renewed in May 2010 for a six year term validating it until August 31, 2016. Listeners can have the CJDJ-FM online and can enjoy contests (Katlynn & Gary’s Beer Vs Vodka Club at Birmingham’s, Dirty Deeds, Rock 102’s Hometown Rock, Rock 102’s Stuff the Bus, NFL at Canadian Brew house) to win stuff, cool clips, Hometown Rock, concerts info and more.
